Louvre roof systems enhance outdoor spaces by allowing you to enjoy your outdoor living experience year-round, giving you complete control over your environment.

Our louvre blades can be adjusted to provide full sunlight, partial shade, or complete shelter from rain, making them an excellent solution for the unpredictable weather conditions of Western Australia.

In particular, our louvre roofs are ideal for protecting your space from harsh UV rays, while still allowing for the warmth of the winter sun to brighten your days.

Patio Transformation

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I customise the design of my patio to suit my home’s style and aesthetic?

Chevron Down

Yes, we offer custom design services that allow you to choose the materials, colours, and finishes that best complement the theme of your home.

How big can my patio be?

Chevron Down

The Residential Design Codes of Western Australia, Building Regulations 2012 and the Building Code of Australia determine factors such as boundary setbacks, lot coverage and fire separation. Our knowledgeable team can discuss the legislative guidelines at the time of quoting. This will ensure you get council approval and eliminate any issues you may face.

What materials are commonly used to build patios?

Chevron Down

The materials commonly used on our patios include galvanised steel beams and posts, Colorbond steel sheeting, aluminium columns, hardwood timber, Solarspan sheeting, 40 MPA high-strength concrete, and anti-corrosive fixings and fasteners. The choice of material depends on your preferences, environmental suitability and budget. For example, free-standing patio timber patios can be a great choice.

How long does it take to build a patio, and what is the typical cost?

Chevron Down

The time it takes to build a patio depends on the size, complexity, and materials used. The cost of building a patio varies based on the material selection, design type and overall size. Feel free to contact us and request an obligation-free quote.

How close to the boundary can the structure be built?

Chevron Down

The Residential Design Codes of Western Australia in conjunction with each Council’s Local Planning Policy determine the rear, side and front setbacks. Generally, to avoid a Planning application a 1 metre setback is required for side boundaries. Front boundaries usually require greater setbacks.

The Building Code of Australia determines setbacks from allotment boundaries based on fire separation requirements. As a guide, a 500mm setback is the closest you can have to a house-attached patio unless a firewall separates the structure from the adjoining property.

There are usually more flexible options for freestanding patios, pergolas and carports. We are happy to discuss these regulatory guidelines during our design process.

Do I need a permit to build a patio?

Chevron Down

Generally, yes. The WA Building Regulations 2012 in conjunction with your local Council determine the requirement for Building Permits. There are exemptions for some freestanding patios and pergolas. Our team can advise you on the requirements for your area and obtain any necessary permits and approvals on your behalf.

What is the difference between a pergola and a patio?

Chevron Down

A pergola typically has an open-air, permeable roof that provides partial shade and allows light to filter through. On the other hand, patios are generally cladded with a solid roof system and are a great option for those wanting to create an outdoor living space that feels like an extension of their home.

What is the difference between a gable and a dome-style patio?

Chevron Down

Gable patios are pitched roof patios with a central apex and often complement traditional house roofs. Dome patios have a curved or radiused roof that forms a graceful canopy over any outdoor area.

What are the benefits of a sunroof/louvre patio design?

Chevron Down

Louvre patio designs allow for greater control over the amount of sunlight and shade in your outdoor living space. Our louvres can be adjusted to provide full shade, partial shade, or full sun, depending on your preferences. When closed, the louvres provide weatherproof shelter for year-round usability. Our sunroofs and louvre pergolas come with rain sensors to ensure your alfresco area stays dry!

Do we use contractors for installations?

Chevron Down

We prefer to use our own installation teams as opposed to outside contractors. All installations are therefore performed using a tried and tested consistent methodology with installers being held accountable for their work performed. Our teams comprise long-standing patio installers who understand our quality control processes.
